KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) has begun separate discussions with the chiefs of Nepal’s three security agencies to assess the situation following the devastating Bhote Koshi River flood in Rasuwa.
The discussions are aimed at receiving detailed briefings on the overall situation following the flood on August 26, including ongoing search and rescue operations, relief distribution and the treatment of those affected by the disaster.
The prime minister is also expected to issue necessary instructions to the concerned security agencies based on the briefings.According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Shah is currently holding discussions with Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
Following his meeting with Sigdel, the prime minister is scheduled to hold separate discussions today with Nepal Police Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki and Armed Police Force, Nepal Inspector General Narayan Dutta Poudel.
The meetings are expected to focus on strengthening coordination among the security agencies and reviewing the ongoing response and recovery efforts in the flood-affected areas.
